Dr Daniel G Samuels
We do not have a record of the birth date or place of birth of Dr Samuels, or the date or place of his passing into the world of spirit. It is believed that his demise occurred sometime in 1966.

Dr Samuels was a graduate of City College (New York) in 1930. He received an MA from Columbia University in 1931, and a PhD in Philosophy from Columbia University in 1940. His proficiency was romance languages and journalism, which he taught in both secondary schools and colleges/universities. He also worked for the US Government as a translator.

He met Dr Leslie R Stone in the fall of 1954, while he was employed by the University of the District of Columbia as an instructor in Spanish. The meeting took place in a park in Washington, DC, near Dr Stone's residence.

A friendship sprang up, and it was soon realized that Dr Samuels was able to take automatic writings. Jesus urged Dr Samuels to pray for the inflowing of the Divine Love of the Father into his soul, just as 40 years before he had urged Mr Padgett to do the same.

It was only through the development of Samuels' soul in the Father's Divine Love that the necessary rapport with Jesus could be achieved thus allowing Jesus to successfully deliver his desired communications.

Working closely with Jesus after being designated by him in 1954 and 1955 as his selectees, disciples and trustees were Dr Stone, Dr Samuels and Rev. John Paul Gibson, who were present when Jesus was communicating through Dr Samuels.

In late 1954, Jesus directed through Samuel's mediumship that a trust be formed to serve as the repository for the truths he had revealed through Mr Padgett from 1914-1923; this trust was to be called The Padgett Foundation.

However, when Padgett's name could not be used due to the objections of a living relative, Jesus honored Dr Stone in the naming of the trust, and the Dr Leslie R Stone Foundation was incorporated in the District of Columbia in December 1955 by Dr Stone, Dr Samuels and Rev. John Paul Gibson.

In 1958, in order to gain federal tax-exempt status, the name of the Foundation was changed to Foundation Church of the New Birth. The three gentlemen, Dr Leslie R Stone, Dr Daniel G Samuels, and Rev. John Paul Gibson, served not only as the Founding Trustees but also the administrators of the church until their demise.

Through Dr Samuels, Jesus continued his supposed close supervision in the formation and establishment of the Church of the New Birth, with written directives and requests to be carried out by his Trustees who accomplished a great deal of work in order to achieve the goals of a nonprofit religious organization.

From the beginning of his close association with Dr Samuels, Jesus wrote that it was his intention to deliver a series of messages on the relationship of the Old Testament Scriptures to his own development in the Father's Divine Love and (never before revealed) insight into his understanding as the Messiah of the Jews. There was also a desire on his part to correct as many as possible of the erroneous statements and beliefs found in both the Old and the New Testaments of the Bible.
